Why it is important for women to visit Masjid regularly

Women not being present in Masjid has backfired Islamic society in ways that we can’t even imagine. When Rasulullah allowed women in Masjid on daily basis, then there was some wisdom behind it but later Muslims forgot that wisdom. As Islam evolved and became more and more modern, Muslims slowly distanced themselves with it’s core Islamic values. These days even men found in Masjid are less in numbers, but women is so less in Masjid or even equals to zero in some Muslim countries that it should concern all those who wish betterment in Islamic society. When women are left behind from important social interaction like praying in Masjids, then the result is often what we see today, women becomes more non-Islamic generally than men. Masjid is a centre of our belief, it’s most important place to actually realise the Islam in physical form, It’s the most important physical address of Allah but if she never goes to Masjid, she takes Islam not as a religion or philosophy, but as myth and stories that has no physical value in her life.

Muslim women being absent from Masjid is quite an epidemic in social sense, if we conclude it’s impact on society as a whole, we see a number of side effects such as she is less interested in practicing Islam than men. If we exclude 50 percent of our population from mainstream Islam by reducing the numbers of women in Masjid then women quietly looses her interest in Islamic philosophy. It’s not that she is choosing to stay away from Islam, but it actually happens by default, when you don’t meet Allah in a Masjid, then you feel Islam is a private religion only, and anything that is private, has a probability to be abandoned at any given time in future. And if this trend continues to happen for a longer period of time then she is more distant to Islam than a non-believer would be.

When you enter into the Masjid and pray behind Imam, you feel included in the society of men and women, you feel the sense of belongingness in your community through prayers on daily basis. The prayers keeps reminding you of the community that is there for you and you are also there for them. These things can never be achieved while praying at home. As women have so many other things to do in her house, so she can’t go to Masjid to perform the prayer for five times, but at least she can be praying in group prayer once a day or twice a day. Masjid is a place that is distraction free, your namaz is dedicated and most focused compared to what you pray at home, as you know you have left behind everything to come to a place to remember Allah only. The mothers with kids, also gets a good space to perform at least one prayer that is most focused one in a day. And some women brings kids with them, which gives the kids an exposure towards Masjids and their community from the early ages. When mothers love Masjids, the kids will love it too automatically.

Masjid is also a place to socialise, a place where you can make networks with the women of your community, where you can know the women of your Mohalla’s, you can learn from women of all ages, you can talk to strangers as in Allah’s house the heart is sincere most likely. plus you spend sometimes with yourself too. You don’t need to search for coffee houses to get some personal space, you can be in Masjid to read books in a quite corner, you can treat the mosque as your go to spot where your heart and mind can find peace. It is all possible only when you enter into Masjid. Depression is also one of the common phenomenon among women, but when she leaves everything behind and enter into Masjid, she has time to reflect upon her life, she has time to connect with Allah in a manner where nobody is there to disturb her in between. Also women has lost touch to social gatherings, especially those who lives in urban areas and Metro cities. All these things making her feel excluded and left behind where nobody truly has time for her. Also, These cracks in Muslim society is the ideal situation for upcoming Fitnah of Dajjal, as he will easily exploit women who are feeling emotionally detached from Islam and Muslim society.

In the end of times, when Dajjal will come into this world, he will have a huge army in which women will be in great numbers, this means he will be able to influence women in a way that the women will think he is a hero or an ideal person who speaks for women empowerment, who makes her feel included in his circle. Women becoming the followers of Dajjal, reflects only one possibility that women themselves would have left the places of prayers like Masjids, they would have left hearing Khutbas of Islam, their lifestyle and their daily routine have gone too far from Islam, they no more feel the touch of Islamic society on daily basis, all these things might end up women leaning towards Dajjali forces in no time. It was duty of the men to send their women to masjid to save her from Dajjal, but they somehow failed.

Islam was different from all the religion of the world as it encouraged women to visit masjid daily, it encouraged her to ask question to Khalifa or the leader, it made her included in every day activity of the community by making her visit Masjid on daily basis but Muslims didn’t practice it as a whole. All other religion allows women for occasionally practice their religion and interact with community through religious practices but Islam was the one that made it a regular practice to include women in the mainstream society through Masjids, as she is one of the important part of society. If your 50 percent feels excluded from Islam then Islam is finished 50 percent.
